This presentation provides an overview of the use cases for battery charging and the specific challenges that automated connection systems face compared with manual solutions. While it is evident that automated systems save time and increase efficiency, numerous requirements must be taken into account. The presentation will identify the needs and solutions that have proved successful in contributing to the overall availability of chargers. Finally, we will give an outlook on the potential future requirements for charging, and explore emerging technologies to achieve a sustainable and decarbonized future for ferries and workboats.
