The world’s first fully electric ferry launched 10 years ago. Today, ferry operators and owners can consider a range of propulsion solutions, from fully battery-electric to traditional hybrid to hybrid incorporating batteries and fuel cells, plus a variety of green fuel options. Additionally, digital twins and artificial intelligence are revolutionizing operations, resulting in reduced costs, enhanced safety and increased energy efficiency. This presentation will highlight technology developments, key considerations in selecting solutions and case studies from ferries in the Americas region.
