Carlos María Brañas graduated at the University of Buenos Aires as a naval architect, marine and mechanical engineer. He is the founding partner of Consulmar, a prestigious naval architecture consultancy firm in South America. He obtained a fellowship at the National Academy of Engineering in Argentina and is former president of the Argentinean Association of Naval Architects, director of the PanAmerican Institute of Naval Architecture, jury to the European program Martera and a regular speaker for national and international forums. Involved in many areas of the profession, in Argentina and overseas, leading major salvage operations, complex retrofits, and designing vessels from push boats to FPSOs, he was also on the design team of the award-winning port in Memphis, Beale street Landing.
