Jeff Rider is a senior marine engineer at Glosten, a full-service marine consulting firm. He has 15 years of experience supporting the design of marine mechanical and electrical systems for a variety of vessel types. Rider served as lead mechanical engineer for the design of a new 100m hybrid ro-ro ferry for the Alaska Marine Highway System and was the lead engineer for the conversion of the Gee’s Bend ferry – the first all-electric car ferry to enter service in the US. He is currently managing the retrofit of a lightering support vessel to hybrid electric propulsion with Fleetzero.
