Seamus Murphy is the executive director of San Francisco Bay Ferry, which operates the Bay Area’s principal water-based public transit system. Since joining the organization in 2021, Murphy has led the reinvention of the SF Bay Ferry service, positioning the system a regional leader in post-pandemic ridership recovery. He also initiated the agency’s Rapid Electric Emission-free Ferry (REEF) Program, which will create the nation’s first high-speed, zero-emission ferry network.
